Multiple Logins

V7 Feature

The feature allows you to log in more than once on the same workstation.

What’s New in V7?

1. The maximum number of instances of CollectMax in the same workstation is (3) three.

2. You can log in under different user id’s, but only (3) three instances can run at the same time on one workstation. If you attempt to log in for the 4th time, no matter what user id you use. It will display this message:

3. All user login information will show (1) one instance of the same user id. If you choose to log in under a different id for all (3) three instances, at that point, it will show all 3 different user ids.

4. The local “TEMP FOLDER” now has new subdirectories to support multiple instances of CollectMax on the same workstation.

“AC” stands for “AUTO-CREATED” these new directories will be used to handle reports and document generation.

5. The first instance becomes the “PRIMARY”, and it has a “Green Dot“ on the bottom left corner. The “Secondary” instance will have a “Yellow Dot”.

• All instances will run “Reports”, “Batch Processes”, and “Downloaders”, “Uploaders” at same time.

Only the primary instances of CollectMax can merge with Word/WP.

If you try to merge documents using the “Secondary” instance you will get the following message:

Finding the Primary File

If you prefer to stay logged into all instances of CollectMax on your workstation but would like to change the “Primary” instance so you can work on documents. We give you tools to “Find a Primary” and switch it from a “Primary” to “Secondary”.

1. From the main menu of a “Secondary” instance select “File” and choose “Find Primary”.

2. The “Primary” instance will focus to the top.

Release the Primary File

Once you have designated the “Primary” instance. We give you tools to “Release Primary” to allow the “Secondary” to become the “Primary.”

1. From the main menu of a “Primary” instance select “File” and choose “Release Primary”.

2. Then select .

3. All instances will turn “Red” on the left hand side.

4. Then you can select the instance to take the “Primary” position.

5. Then go to “File” and then select “Take Primary”.

6. Then select the button.

7. Once you select “Yes”, the instance will become “Green” and the rest will be set to “Yellow”. Then you are able to work on documents from the new “Primary”

Things to Remember:

1. We recommend that you run all long processes on a “Secondary” instance and not the “Primary”.

2. If you have “MaxMonitor”, which is part of our “MaxSecurity” package. It will log the login/logoff events for each instance. It is possible for the report to display 3 logins in a row without have a logoff. Please keep this in mind when auditing your reports

Advantage Information

This multiple login feature does not count as a licensed user for CollectMax nor Advantage licenses. So, there is not a need to upgrade your workstation count.

We suggest updating Advantage configuration settings for the number of instances of CollectMax you may have to run at one time in your office. Advantage 11 will allocate the memory when needed.

JST recommends configuring the settings ahead of time. We recommend that you have you IT professional, update you Configuration Table for Advantage with any new values.

Please Note: Any changes made to Advantage needs to occur when all users are out of CollectMax. Then, stop the service and apply the changes, and then restart the service.

Here is the formula for the Advantage Configuration:

Configuration Utility Tab Settings are:

Connections=(#ADS users) x 3 or 20 whichever is greater
Workareas=(#of ADS users) x 300
Tables=250
Indexes=250
Datalocks=4000

On Misc Settings Tab:

Number of Worker Threads=0
